Public Relations Midterm Presentation

Location

The Fashion Institute of Technology

Date

Fall 2024

Role

Individual assignment

For my midterm project in Public Relations, I developed a year-long awareness campaign for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute focused on increasing awareness of women’s heart health. The campaign launched on Valentine’s Day at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and aimed to educate women on heart disease, the leading cause of death among women in the United States.

To create a more engaging and impactful experience, the event combined public health education with fashion, media, and celebrity influence. The campaign featured informational resources, prevention strategies, and a showcase of red dresses worn by former first ladies, along with a fashion show featuring influential figures such as Kelly Osbourne and Gabby Douglas.

This project strengthened my understanding of public relations strategy, event planning, audience engagement, and cause marketing while challenging me to think creatively about how campaigns can educate audiences and create meaningful social impact.
